About this planter

Less a planter. More a piece of landscape.

The Antwerp is the moment a planter stops being an object and starts being a section of garden. Sixty-one centimetres wide, only thirty centimetres tall, and stretching from just over ninety centimetres up to nearly two metres in length — proportions that read as built ground rather than placed furniture. Set one along the edge of a terrace, and the terrace gains a planted boundary. Set three end to end, and the boundary becomes a landscape.
The depth is what makes it more than a long box. At 52 cm of interior width and a generous soil volume from end to end, the Antwerp will happily host the kind of planting most planters can't — a small specimen tree with its full root ball, a layered composition of clipped boxwood and ornamental grasses, a year-round display of structural shrubs and seasonal flowers underneath. Plant it once with real architectural intent, and it carries the design through every season without thinning out at the top or starving the roots below.
It does its best work outdoors at scale. Lining the edge of a rooftop, a row of Antwerps reads as a planted parapet — solid enough to define the boundary, low enough to keep the view. Around a swimming pool, two long lengths frame the deck like a green hedge that needs no trimming. Across the forecourt of an office building or hotel, the Antwerp lets you carve planted thresholds from open paving — choose the length, line them up, and the space organises itself. The four sizes (91.4 / 121.9 / 152.4 / 182.9 cm) and matching corner piece are designed to be combined: a single run for a clean edge, an L-shape to wrap a corner, a U to enclose a seating area without ever building a wall.
Every Antwerp is hand-finished in the same automotive-grade composite fiberglass as the rest of the Jay Scotts collection. It endures from −20 °C to +50 °C without cracking or fading, and despite the architectural scale, stays light enough that a rooftop or retrofit installation rarely needs structural reinforcement — the kind of detail that quietly decides whether a project happens at all. Available in all 21 standard Jay Scotts finishes, with custom colour matching on request.
